Conflicts and open questions
- CORRECTION FLAG for alpr.json: the existing event says the County Commission 'voted to remove cameras from county land.' Tampa Bay 28 (Aug. 26) reports the termination was the sheriff's action with no commission vote on it; Tampa Bay Beacons describes a failed/opposed renewal motion on Aug. 11 and a task-force directive Aug. 25. Editor should reconcile with WUSF wording.
- Camera count conflict: 70 (WUSF; Tampa Bay 28) vs. about 60 (Tampa Bay Times; Tampa Bay Beacons).
- Data retention set at 30 days by the agency; state law allows up to two years (Tampa Bay 28, FOX 13).
- Correction (Oct. 16, 2026): an earlier version said the County Commission voted to remove cameras; Tampa Bay 28 reports no such vote. The sheriff ended the agreement himself.
