"about 106" Flock cameras in the area per county commissioners, "about 60" on county rights-of-way; figures attributed to commissioners, not the sheriff
  1. Aug. 25, 2026 The Walton County Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 to remove Flock cameras from "all county-owned and maintained rights-of-way"; cameras in private communities, municipalities and on state highways were outside the vote. Commissioner Danny Glidewell supported the motion and described a planned ordinance further banning Flock in the county. WFSU described it as a countywide ban and the first in Florida. (WJHG, Aug. 25, 2026; WEAR, Aug. 27, 2026; WFSU Public Media, Sept. 1, 2026)
  2. Aug. 27, 2026 Sheriff Mike Adkinson said he was "one of the last people in the Panhandle to allow it" and called for "really strict guidelines." The office set no removal deadline; a spokesperson said the cameras would likely not be used in the meantime. (WEAR, Aug. 27, 2026)
  3. Sept. 1, 2026 WTVY and WJHG reported Walton County had pulled or would discontinue use of its cameras (no detail on state-road or municipal cameras). (WTVY, Sept. 1, 2026; WJHG, Aug. 31, 2026)

Reported by news outlets; agency records not yet obtained.
