How to read this
Figures come from the DR-2 disclosure reports each committee filed with the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board, read from the summary page the Board prints on page 1 of each report. Iowa's summary page covers one reporting period only (no cycle-to-date column), so 'raised', 'spent' and 'loans' here are the sums of the same summary-page line across each committee's consecutive reports from Jan. 1, 2025 (the 2025 annual report) through Oct. 14, 2026; 'cash on hand' is the ending cash on the latest report. For every account the latest report is the one covering July 15 to Oct. 14, 2026, due Oct. 19, 2026 under the Board's 2026 schedule; all 13 were on file by Oct. 19. The next reports, supplementary reports for Oct. 15 to Oct. 27 due Oct. 30, are required only of committees that took in at least $10,000 (governor) or $5,000 (other statewide offices) in that period and were not yet due. 'Raised' counts monetary contributions only (Schedule A, which includes money from party committees, PACs and other committees and bank interest); in-kind contributions and loans are shown separately and are not in 'raised'. Raised, spent, cash on hand and loans are different measures and are never added together.
Raised, spent and cash on hand are different measures from the same reports and are never added together. Loans are shown on their own and are not counted as money raised. Periods differ between accounts when committees file on different schedules.

What is not here yet
- Statewide ballot measure (Amendment 1, two-thirds legislative vote to raise income taxes): no committee for or against it was found. The Board's registry of committees (Iowa Data Hub dataset 704, queried Oct. 20, 2026) has no statewide ballot issue committee type and no committee naming the amendment; its only ballot committees are 16 'Local Ballot Issue' committees. The Board's filed-reports list for 2025-2026 has no committee whose name refers to the amendment. Iowans for Tax Relief PAC (committee 6155), named as a supporter in a news report (KCRG, Sept. 9, 2026, read as a lead only; logged in data/ia/ballot-2026/raw/PULLS.md), files as a general state PAC and was not counted as a ballot-measure committee; its reports and any independent expenditure statements about the amendment were not yet checked.
- Sondra Wilson: data/us/elections-2026/candidates.json lists her as a 2026 general-election governor candidate, but the Iowa Secretary of State's general-election candidate list (last updated Aug. 19, 2026) lists only Zach Lahn (Republican) and Rob Sand (Democratic) for governor. The Story County official sample ballot and Cerro Gordo County's candidate list (saved in data/ia/ballot-2026/raw/) also print only the Lahn/Wulf and Sand/Muhlbauer teams, so she is not on the printed ballot. Her committee is included because it is registered for the 2026 governor's race and filed the July 15-Oct. 14 report; whether she is running as a write-in is not yet checked (Iowa does not certify write-in candidates). The Board's registry lists her committee's party as 'Not Available'.
- Lieutenant governor nominees (Derek Wulf, Republican; Dave Muhlbauer, Democratic) run on a joint ticket with the governor nominees; the Board's registry lists no 2026 lieutenant governor committee, so their money is not shown separately.
- Primary candidates who lost the June 2, 2026 primaries (for example Randy Feenstra, Adam Steen and Eddie Andrews for governor, Abigail Maas for auditor, Wade Dooley for secretary of agriculture) are not included.
- Rob Sand for Iowa's 2025 annual, Jan. 1-May 14, May 15-July 14 and July 15-Oct. 14 reports are 17 MB to 60 MB each and are kept outside the repository; their sizes, SHA-256 hashes and URLs are in raw/PULLS.md. The pre-primary report (2.4 MB) is in raw/.
- The Board's bulk contributions data (Iowa Data Hub dataset 917, last updated Oct. 17, 2026) ends with transactions dated July 14, 2026 overall and, for these 13 committees, with transactions dated no later than May 28, 2026, so it cannot be used for the July or October reports. As a cross-check, its monetary contribution (CON) and in-kind (INK) totals from Jan. 1, 2025 match the summary-page Schedule A and Schedule E sums for the 2025 annual, Jan. 1-May 14 and pre-primary reports to the cent for 12 of the 13 committees; for Ryan Peterman for Iowa the bulk CON total is $23.56 higher ($306,524.28 against $306,500.72), not resolved.
- data.iowa.gov no longer runs the Socrata API (resource/<id>.csv and api/views paths return 404); the Iowa Data Hub's own table query (the 'View Data' preview the dataset page calls) was used for the small saved queries in raw/.
- Reports filed or amended after Oct. 20, 2026, and supplementary reports for Oct. 15-27 due Oct. 30, are not included. Several earlier reports were amended or adjusted by the Board after filing (status and amendment date are listed in each account's note); the figures use each report's current version as served on Oct. 20, 2026.
- John Norwood's 2025 annual report lists the committee type as Secretary of Agriculture; his 2026 reports list Treasurer of State. The 2025 report shows no contributions or spending.
- Legislative candidates (Iowa House and Senate) are not yet done: the bulk data stops before the July and October reports, so per-candidate totals would have to be read from each committee's DR-2 reports one by one.
