  • DiNapoli for New York: Cash on hand is left empty: the state's export does not hold this committee's full history, so a recomputed balance would be wrong. No published figure found yet.

How to read this

Figures cover each committee's reports through the 32-Day Pre-General report (due Oct. 2, 2026; transactions through Sept. 28, 2026), the latest report on file for all six committees. Every figure is recomputed from the Board of Elections' transaction-level disclosure data, saved in raw/. Raised, spent, cash on hand, loans, transfers and public matching funds are separate measures and are never added together. Public matching funds are state money paid by the Office of the State Comptroller under the state public campaign finance program; they are not contributions. Governor and lieutenant governor run as a joint ticket; neither 2026 lieutenant governor nominee has an active Board of Elections committee for that race, so the governor committees carry the ticket's money. New York has no statewide ballot proposal on Nov. 3, 2026, so there are no measure committees. 'Raised' counts money each committee reported as contributions, including money from party and political committees filed on schedule C (for example, $50,000 from the New York Republican State Committee to Saritha for New York); transfers filed as transfers are shown separately.

Raised, spent and cash on hand are different measures from the same reports and are never added together. Loans are shown on their own and are not counted as money raised. Periods differ between accounts when committees file on different schedules.

What is not here yet

  • The Board of Elections' own sites (publicreporting.elections.ny.gov, elections.ny.gov) and the Public Campaign Finance Board (pcfb.ny.gov) answered every request from the workspace with a Cloudflare challenge (HTTP 403), and a WebFetch read was not approved in time: not opened, not saved. The same Board of Elections disclosure data was taken from data.ny.gov instead. Figures have not been checked against the filed report summary pages (the state's own Schedule totals); that check is not yet done.
  • Public matching funds are taken from the committees' own schedule S receipts (payments from the NYS Comptroller), not from the Public Campaign Finance Board's payment list, which could not be opened. Payments made after Sept. 28, 2026 are not included.
  • Nominees checked Oct. 18, 2026 against the State Board of Elections' certification (Oct. 7, 2026; data/ny/elections-2026/candidates.json) and data/us/elections-2026/races.json: governor and lieutenant governor, Kathy C. Hochul and Adrienne E. Adams (Democratic, Working Families) and Bruce A. Blakeman and Todd Hood (Republican, Conservative, Vote Affordable); attorney general, Letitia A. James (Democratic, Working Families) and Saritha Komatireddy (Republican, Conservative); comptroller, Thomas P. DiNapoli (Democratic, Working Families) and Joseph Hernandez (Republican, Conservative). These are the only candidates certified for those offices, and each has the committee shown. The committees are matched to the candidates by name in the Board of Elections filer registry; the disclosure export does not carry the office on these filings.
  • Lieutenant governor: Adrienne Adams has no active Board of Elections filer for lieutenant governor (her registry entries are terminated State Senate committees). Todd Hood is registered as a lieutenant governor candidate (filer 35118) but his only committee on file, Friends Of Todd Hood (5628), is his Madison County sheriff committee, with no 2026 32-day pre-general report; it is not shown as a lieutenant governor account.
  • Minor-party and independent candidates for governor (Larry Sharpe, Libertarian, committee 17618; others) are not shown: the Board of Elections rejected non-qualified party petitions in May 2026 (Wikipedia lead, not yet checked against the certified ballot), and Sharpe's committee has filed no 2026 pre-general report (latest: July Periodic, through July 11, 2026).
  • Cash on hand is empty for Friends for Kathy Hochul (16851) and DiNapoli for New York (308716): the export's running balance goes below zero for both (Hochul's history before July 2014 and any opening balances are not in the export), so a recomputed balance would be wrong. Hochul's campaign told reporters it had $18.5 million on hand at the end of the pre-general period (City & State, "One month out from Election Day, Hochul has more than $33 million in the bank," Sept. 29, 2026, https://www.cityandstateny.com/politics/2026/09/one-month-out-election-day-hochul-has-more-33-million-bank/416290/; reported, not a state figure).
  • Blakeman for New York's 32-Day Pre-General report appears in the export with 3,500 transactions repeated (7,000 extra rows, $330,674.64); the repeats are dropped. City & State reported that his July report had been amended; the export holds one version of each report and amendments are not separately visible.
  • Saritha for New York's off-cycle report holds one contribution dated 2027-05-06 ($50), as filed; it is counted (it is in a report filed before Oct. 2026, so the date is likely a filer typo).
  • James for NY 2026 (308810) began in 2023 with transactions on file from 2023-01-26; any opening balance carried from an earlier committee is not visible in the export, so its cash on hand assumes none (the running balance never goes below zero).
  • Statewide ballot proposals: none on the Nov. 3, 2026 ballot (data/us/elections-2026/measures.json). No Board of Elections ballot issue committee reported 2026 activity tied to a statewide proposal (registry saved in raw/).
  • Legislative candidates (State Senate, Assembly): not yet checked. The same dataset covers them and can be filtered by filer once the candidate list exists.
  • Independent expenditure committees and party committees spending in these races (e.g. the New York State Democratic Committee's $10,000,000 transfer to Friends for Kathy Hochul, shown in transfers_in) are not summarized here: not yet checked.
  • Independent check, Oct. 18, 2026: scripts/ny_cf.py compute was rerun from the saved extracts and reproduced every figure in this file to the cent; the extracts' hashes match raw/PULLS.md, and their per-schedule sums and row counts for 2023 onward match the live data.ny.gov dataset (queried Oct. 18). 'raised' holds only schedules A, B, C and E; no transfer (G), loan (I), public fund (S) or in-kind (D) row is in it. Editor decisions (Oct. 18, 2026): party and political committee money reported as contributions on schedule C stays in 'raised' as filed and is named in the note; Friends for Kathy Hochul's $15,000 returned contribution-refund check (schedule E, Aug. 28, 2025) is excluded from 'raised' and stated on the page; Hochul's cash on hand shows City & State's reported $18.5 million, labeled reported. The figures have not been checked against the Board of Elections' own report summary pages.
