How to read this
Wisconsin elects a governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state and state treasurer on Nov. 3, 2026. The accounts are the campaign committees of the 11 candidates on the general-election ballot for those offices (two per office, plus Pete Karas of the Wisconsin Green Party for secretary of state). Figures are read from the summary page of the CF-2 reports each committee filed with the Wisconsin Ethics Commission, using the calendar-year-to-date column for 2025 (2026 January Continuing report) and for 2026 through Sept. 23 (2026 September Report); loans are shown separately and are not counted as money raised; in-kind contributions are shown separately. For every account the latest report is the 2026 September Report (July 28-Sept. 23, 2026, due Sept. 30). The 2026 Fall Pre-Election report (Sept. 24-Oct. 19, 2026) is due Oct. 26, 2026 and had not been filed by any of these committees when the records were pulled on Oct. 20; contributions of $1,000 or more received Oct. 20-Nov. 3 must be reported within 72 hours. Raised, spent, cash on hand, in-kind and loans are different measures and are never added together.
Raised, spent and cash on hand are different measures from the same reports and are never added together. Loans are shown on their own and are not counted as money raised. Periods differ between accounts when committees file on different schedules.

What is not here yet
- The 2026 Fall Pre-Election reports (Sept. 24-Oct. 19, 2026) are due Oct. 26, 2026 and were not yet due on Oct. 20; every figure here stops at Sept. 23, 2026. 72-hour reports of large contributions (Oct. 20-Nov. 3) are not included.
- Statewide referendum questions: three constitutional amendments are on the Nov. 3, 2026 ballot (no partial veto to create or raise a tax or fee; no closure of places of worship during emergencies; no government discrimination or preferential treatment by race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin). The Ethics Commission's system lists each question as a ballot event, but on Oct. 20, 2026 no committee was connected to any of them, and no committee of type Referendum was registered in 2026 (the latest referendum committees date from 2024-2025 and are tied to earlier questions). Groups that spend on the amendments as political action or independent expenditure committees are not listed by question and are not included.
- Legislative candidates (State Senate and Assembly) are not included yet. The Ethics Commission's site does offer CSV downloads of registrants, report lists and itemized transactions, but report summary totals (the figures used here) are only on each report's PDF, so legislative accounts would mean several hundred PDFs; not yet checked.
- Nominee list: the Wisconsin Elections Commission's post-primary list of Nov. 3 candidates could not be fetched (elections.wi.gov pages answer automated requests with a browser check; only files under /sites/default/files/ load). The accounts were first chosen from the Commission's June 8, 2026 Candidate Tracking by Office (Appendix B of its ballot access memo, saved here). All 11 candidates are the primary winners the Commission's official Aug. 11, 2026 primary canvass marks 'Winner' for their office and party (the canvass is saved with SignalData's Wisconsin candidate list), and the same 11 names and registrant IDs appear in that candidate list and on the county ballots saved with it. Pete Karas (Wisconsin Green, secretary of state) was listed as 'Challenged' on June 8; the canvass shows him winning the Wisconsin Green primary and the saved county ballots print his name.
- For calendar 2025 the figures come from the Commission's year-to-date column on the 2026 January Continuing report. For committees that filed a 2025 July Continuing report on the old form (Kaul, Godlewski, Karas, Leiber, Xiong, Tiffany), that old form counted in-kind contributions in both receipts and disbursements; the new system's 2025 year-to-date figures leave them out, so the old report's totals are higher by the in-kind amount (checked for Kaul: $6,331.81).
- Committees whose first report in this window starts with cash carried over from years without reports on file (Zamarripa, Toney, Crowley) are noted in their accounts; the earlier money was not traced.
- Independent expenditures and party or PAC spending on these races are not included; only the candidates' own committees are shown. Transfers in from party and other candidate committees are part of 'raised'; each account's transfer amount is kept with its figures in the data.
