DA David Lozier said in April 2022 that 45 readers were active in Beaver County (one WPXI report says 45 intersections). In March 2021 he described about 30 intersections in almost a dozen communities.
- March 3, 2021 KDKA reported that plate-reader cameras were up at about 30 intersections in almost a dozen Beaver County communities, among them Aliquippa, Chippewa, Beaver Falls and New Brighton, through a partnership between the DA and local police. Aliquippa's chief said the city had about 36 cameras near major intersections at roughly $650 each. Lozier said that in most towns he covers part of the cost from drug forfeiture funds. The effort is part of a five-county push by local DAs, with more than 1,000 cameras going in near about 200 intersections across the region. (KDKA / CBS Pittsburgh, March 3, 2021)
- April 2022 DA David Lozier asked Ambridge to install plate readers at 14th Street and Duss Avenue, and the borough council approved them. Lozier said 45 cameras were already in use across the county and that police chiefs audit access. The housing authority helped pay for that round. (WPXI-TV, April 13, 2022; WPXI-TV, April 8, 2022)
