The record, newest first
Construction began on the Bilter Road buildings, according to Data Center Dynamics. (Data Center Dynamics, May 21, 2025)
Plans filed with Aurora showed two buildings of about 411,000 and 150,000 square feet on 32 acres in the Butterfield planned development, plus telecom towers. (Connect CRE, June 4, 2024)
CyrusOne was negotiating with Aurora over a 30-acre Bilter Road parcel where data centers had been barred; the city sought to recover up to $11 million it had spent on a nearby highway interchange, plus hotel revenue it would forgo. (Bisnow, Jan. 30, 2024)
Conflicts and open questions
- No MW figure in any opened source; site is under 100 acres. Kept as a confirmed campus under construction.
- Connect CRE and Data Center Dynamics place the parcel in Kendall County, which does not reach the I-88 corridor. Bisnow puts the site directly across I-88 from the existing Diehl Road campus; the Census geocoder places that stretch of Bilter Road in DuPage County (Bilter Road west of roughly the 2500 block is in Kane County). County set to DuPage; confirm against the parcel record.
- Treating the CyrusOne 'CHI9' Aurora listing and the DCEO 'Aurora III' entity as this site is likely but not confirmed by a record.
- Coordinates approximate, Bilter Road north of I-88 in Aurora.
