Registered lobbyists, the clients they represent and the pay ranges they filed, from the Louisiana Board of Ethics' lobbying records.
registered lobbyists
Individual lobbyists on the Board of Ethics' current list (all three branches together) on Oct. 26, 2026, counted by name from the saved CSV export. The Board's own chart of registrations for 2026, which also counts lobbyists whose registration ended during the year, shows 724 individuals.
clients (lobbyist employers)
Distinct client names on the current list, grouped exactly as filed (empty name parts dropped); 2075 if differences of capital letters are ignored. Spelling variants of one organization are not merged, so this overstates the number of organizations somewhat.

How to read this
Louisiana lobbyists register with the Board of Ethics separately for the Legislature, the executive branch and local governments, and on each registration they name every client (the Board calls them representations) and file the category of pay they receive or expect for lobbying for that client: five ranges set by law, from $24,999 or less to $250,000 or more. Registrations run for the calendar year. The Board's current list on Oct. 26, 2026 has 665 lobbyists and 2110 client names in 3753 lobbyist-client registrations. The table ranks clients by the low ends of those ranges added up; the high ends are added up separately and are open when any registration is in the top range. A client with several lobbyists has one range from each; a lobbying firm sometimes appears as a client when its own lobbyists register it as their employer. Lobbyists also file monthly expenditure reports (food, drink, events and gifts for officials), but those report each lobbyist's total across all clients and are not split by client, so they are not in the table. Being a lobbyist or a client, and the pay filed, are lawful and public; these records do not show that any official acted because of them.
What is not here yet
- Lobbying expenditures (meals, drinks, events and gifts reported monthly under La. R.S. 24:55 and the matching executive and local laws) are not here. The reports give each lobbyist's total across all clients, not per client, and the Board publishes statewide monthly totals only as a chart image (saved in raw/, not transcribed); per-lobbyist totals would need each lobbyist's reports to be read. Not yet checked.
- The current list leaves out registrations that ended earlier in 2026 (the Board's chart counts 724 individuals registered at some time in 2026, against 665 on the current list), so their clients and pay categories are not counted.
- Pay is filed in ranges; the top range ($250,000 or more) has no upper limit, so a client with a registration in it has an open high end. The ranges are what lobbyists filed as paid or to be paid, not amounts confirmed as paid.
- Client names are grouped exactly as filed; spelling variants of one organization (for example with and without 'Inc.') are not merged, which can split a client's total across rows.
- Foreign adversary lobbying disclosures (La. R.S. 24:53.1) were not reviewed.
