Maine ballot · Nov. 3, 2026Checked Oct. 30, 2026

No statewide measures this year.

From the state’s certified list, with the official wording and the committees registered for and against each.

No statewide referendum question is on Maine's Nov. 3, 2026 ballot in the state records opened. The Secretary of State's Upcoming Elections page for the Nov. 3 general election lists candidate lists and voting notices and no referendum question, and no Citizen's Guide to a 2026 referendum election was found. The only initiative on the Secretary of State's current list that was filed for 2026, on school sports and facilities, was found invalid by the Secretary of State on May 26, 2026 (67,150 valid signatures of 67,682 required), and the Maine Supreme Judicial Court affirmed on July 10, 2026; a provisional ballot question was issued in case it were reinstated. A people's veto petition against the 2026 supplemental budget was approved for circulation in May, with signatures due July 28, 2026; the Secretary of State's current initiatives page does not list it. The Legislature's agriculture and forestry bond bill (LD 2094) failed the two-thirds vote and died on adjournment, so it was not sent to voters. None of the three is on the ballot; they are named here for reference only. Local questions are not covered here.

What is not here yet

  • No official sample ballot or certified list of Nov. 3, 2026 referendum questions was found; the finding of no statewide question rests on the Secretary of State's Upcoming Elections page, the absence of a 2026 Citizen's Guide, and the records of the three 2026 proposals named in the note.
  • Whether the supplemental budget people's veto petition was ever filed by July 28, 2026 is not yet checked against a Secretary of State record; the current initiatives page does not list it.
  • Constitutional amendments and other bond bills before the 132nd Legislature were not checked one by one; none appears on the Secretary of State's election pages.
  • The federal lawsuit by the school sports initiative's proponents that the Secretary of State mentions was not identified in a court record; its status is not yet checked.
  • Ballot question committees: none is listed because no question is on the ballot; the Ethics Commission's committee records were not searched.
