Who is behind it
The record, newest first
Enterprise Minnesota reported CloudHQ was still awaiting final city approvals for the campus, which it said needs up to 200 MW. (Enterprise Minnesota, Feb. 26, 2026)
BridgeTower reported CloudHQ controls the roughly 70-acre site and is cleared to build a 30-ft berm; final site approval and a separate substation process were still ahead, with no groundbreaking date. (BridgeTower Media Newswires (The Daily Reporter), April 15, 2025)
The council voted 4-1 to approve the preliminary site plan and plat for a two-story building of about 1.4 million sq ft, including an exception to the park's 36-ft height limit, after residents raised objections. (City of Chaska, undated; Carver County Local News, Oct. 29, 2024)

Conflicts and open questions
- Utility resolved by the city's project page: the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency would own and operate the on-site substation, connected to Xcel Energy's transmission line. The 2022 Star Tribune said Xcel was working to acquire the substation land; Carver County Local News (2024) said the project would bring revenue to the city-owned utility.
- Acreage: about 72.3 acres in the AUAR, 72 acres in DCD, and 70 acres in BridgeTower (2025).
- Size: about 1.4 million sq ft in two stories (Star Tribune, Carver County Local News); the city page says about 1.5 million sq ft.
- The city page is undated; status_date is the date it was opened. It says a preliminary system impact study by CloudHQ, MMPA and Xcel was expected to take about six more months.
- Final approval had not happened: the city lists the final site plan and plat as TBD, and no 2025-2026 council action on it was found.
- The 2022 plan to build in 2023 slipped; no construction had been reported by Feb. 2026.
- This site is separate from Stream's 2013 Minneapolis I building at 1708 West Creek Lane (now LightEdge).
