Updates, newest first

  1. Oct. 20, 2026 DEP's data center permit tracker lists the project as proposed, with no permit applications received and no mapped site. (Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Oct. 20, 2026)
  2. Aug. 22, 2026 The Salem Township Planning Commission recommended expanding the data center overlay zone to cover the project; the supervisors had not yet decided. (Times Leader, Aug. 22, 2026)

Conflicts and open questions

  • Most size and cost figures come from the developers' presentation; the Times Leader gave the land purchases as both $1.2 billion and $1.4 billion.
  • The planning commission vote is dated by the Times Leader story (Aug. 22, 2026); the story does not give the meeting date. The Times Leader spells the group '4-3 Glennbrook Group'; the name here is DEP's spelling.
