The record, newest first
Novva's Utah page describes a 100-acre, four-phase campus of about 1.5 million sq ft with an on-site 200 MW substation and 15-30 MW of on-site solar, and posts monthly water-use reports. (Novva Data Centers, Sept. 2026)
The Gardner Institute data summary listed Novva West Jordan 1 (31 MW) and 2 (72 MW) among operating data centers and West Jordan 3 (72 MW) as under construction for 2026. (Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, University of Utah, April 2026)
Novva and CIM Group said they had closed $2 billion in financing to finish phases 2 and 3, two 318,000 sq ft buildings of 72 MW critical IT each that began construction in Dec. 2023 and Jan. 2024 and were due for completion in 2026; phase 1 had been operating since 2023. (Novva Data Centers, March 5, 2025; Engineering News-Record, March 13, 2025)
Utah's Governor's Office of Economic Development and EDCUtah announced Novva's 100-acre West Jordan campus. The first phase, then under construction, included a substation, a 300,000 sq ft data hall and 80,000 sq ft of offices; Novva said it would spend more than $1 billion across four phases. (EDCUtah (with Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development), Aug. 31, 2020)
Conflicts and open questions
- Address from Novva's site policy page. Coordinates from the U.S. Census geocoder for 6477 Wells Park Rd, which places it in West Jordan city, Salt Lake County.
- Floor area conflicts: the 2020 announcement and Novva's page give about 1.5 million sq ft of building space, while the 2025 release says about 1 million sq ft of data center space.
- The Gardner summary lists buildings 1 and 2 under West Valley City but building 3 under West Jordan. The operator address and the Census geocoder give West Jordan, which is used here.
- Novva's page cites 15-30 MW of on-site solar and publishes monthly water-use reports. It does not name the utility.
