Meramec Valley Technology Park (Crooked Creek data center)
Beltline Energy's planned campus of up to 16 buildings on roughly 490 to 500 acres south of Pacific moved from a city application to an unincorporated-county rezoning, which Franklin County approved in September 2026 and two coalitions are challenging in court. Also known as: Crooked Creek Data Center, Beltline Energy data center, Pacific.

The record, newest first
Spectrum reported that the Franklin County Rural Coalition and the Pacific Root Coalition were each suing the county commission and the developers, asking a court to review and set aside four measures passed in September; the county did not respond to Spectrum. (Spectrum News St. Louis, Oct. 15, 2026)
The Franklin County Commission unanimously approved the rezoning for the Beltline project along Highway O. (Spectrum News St. Louis, Sept. 16, 2026)

The county planning commission voted 4-5 on the Beltline rezoning, a recommendation of denial; DCD said the request covered 12 parcels totaling about 490 acres near 684 Phelan Road. (Spectrum News St. Louis, April 22, 2026; DatacenterDynamics, April 2026)
KMOV, previewing the planning vote, referred to the project south of Pacific as the Meramec Valley Technology Park and put Beltline's plan at $16 billion. (KMOV (First Alert 4), April 18, 2026)
Beltline was reported to be moving the project from Pacific to unincorporated county land and seeking to rezone 495 acres of farmland. (Jefferson City News Tribune (Tribune News Service), March 27, 2026)

Conflicts and open questions
- Acreage differs by source: about 490 acres (DCD), 495 (News Tribune), about 500 (Hoodline, Baxtel); a Sierra Club release described a 400-acre Crooked Creek Farm. The $16 billion figure comes from secondary reporting; St. Louis Magazine's original story was not opened.
- Status relies on Spectrum News for the Sept. 15 county vote; the county's own ordinances were not found online. Evidence is 'record' because Pacific's minutes document the application.
- Beltline calls the project the Meramec Valley Technology Park (Hoodline); Pacific's minutes call it Crooked Creek.
- Spectrum (April 2026) reported the Pacific ROOT Coalition planned to sue if the county approved the rezonings.
- The suits' claims are allegations; no court action on them was found in opened sources. The coalition's attorney said filing does not mean the county acted unlawfully.
