Corscale Midwest Digital Gateway
Texas-based Corscale has proposed a $2.9 billion, 312 MW campus on roughly 162 acres annexed into southeast Canton, which must still pass the city's new data center review rules.
Who is behind it
The record, newest first
Trade reporting identified Corscale as developer of the Midwest Digital Gateway, a proposed 312 MW, $2.9 billion campus on about 162 acres, with Amazon Web Services a possible but unconfirmed tenant. (Construction Review Online, Sept. 24, 2026)
Canton City Council passed, 8-3, an ordinance defining data centers and setting development standards for them. (Spectrum News 1, July 28, 2026)
Local reporting said Canton had annexed two potential data center sites from Canton Township in late 2025, including a 162.9-acre farm parcel southeast of Millerton Street and Central Avenue SE bought in 2025 by companies with data center ties. (Massillon Independent (via AOL), April 6, 2026)
Conflicts and open questions
- Coordinates approximate: Millerton St SE / Central Ave SE area, southeast Canton.
- Acreage differs: about 162 or 163.5 acres annexed in the same article, and 162.9 acres in the April Massillon Independent story; that story does not name Corscale, but the acreage and location match.
- Evidence is reporting only; no city annexation ordinance or site plan has been cited yet.
- Separate from the Panattoni ~100-acre, 324 MW East Side Canton proposal reported by Ideastream/WYSU on 2026-08-19 (former Ford forge site), which is not one of my leads.
