Updates, newest first

  1. March 31, 2026 The planning commission approved the continued application 5-2 with amended findings, according to draft minutes; a business journal reported conditions on stormwater, wastewater and runway lighting. (Morrow County Planning Commission, March 31, 2026; Morrow County Planning Commission, April 28, 2026; Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business, April 14, 2026)
  2. Feb. 24, 2026 The planning commission heard Amazon's application; neighbors and Oregon Rural Action raised bird-strike, nitrate, air and water concerns, and one commissioner said he would vote against these data centers if he could. The record was held open. (Morrow County Planning Commission, Feb. 24, 2026)

Conflicts and open questions

  • The approval comes from draft minutes in the county's April 28, 2026 packet; final minutes were not found.
  • Amazon's lawyer told the commission the land was rezoned for industrial use, including data centers, in 2016.
