The record, newest first

  1. About a dozen residents urged the Planning and Zoning Commission to adopt a data center moratorium. The first selectman said O&G had asked over the summer whether the town would consider a second agreement for a revised plan, but no specifics followed. (CT Mirror, Oct. 25, 2026)

  2. The 2022 agreement lapsed before a host fee agreement was finalized, as the developers did not find a buyer. (CT Mirror, Oct. 25, 2026)

  3. A special town meeting unanimously approved an agreement between Beacon Falls and O&G's CT Data Center for a two-story, 32 MW, about 294,000 sq ft facility. The selectmen had approved it on April 11. (DatacenterDynamics (crediting My Citizen News), April 2022)

Conflicts and open questions

  • The 2022 year is inferred: CT Mirror calls the memorandum of understanding about four years old, and the DCD story gives only month and day.
  • The Hartford Courant reported that no state or local permits have been sought for the 100 MW version.

The full record

Status note
The landowner is marketing the site for about 100 MW. The 2022 town agreement for a 32 MW plan lapsed in 2023 without a host fee agreement, and nothing is pending with the town.
Power note
100 MW is the figure in current marketing (CT Mirror, Courant). The earlier 2022 plan was 32 MW.
