Conflicts and open questions
- Contract cost is reported only in round terms: 'nearly half a million dollars' (KCRG) and 'just under $500,000' (Radio Iowa, quoting the report's supervising professor). No exact amount is shown.
- KCRG's story links to a city council packet whose filename is dated June 25, 2024.
- A two-year contract signed in summer 2024 would reach its term in 2026. No renewal record has been located, though KCRG reported the cameras operating in Aug. 2026.
