The Justice Department on Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, announced “charges involving 63 individuals, including four illegal aliens,” tied to what it described as illegal voting, fraudulent voter registration and related election crimes. By SignalData’s count, the cases are in 20 federal court districts in 15 states.1

Attorney General Todd Blanche called the announcement “the largest surge of voter-fraud arrests since President Trump returned to office.” He said “these foreign nationals allegedly took advantage of the trust of the American people.”1

The release gives two larger totals. It says that “in the last nine weeks alone” the department charged “195 aliens across 25 states” with “illegal voting and registration offenses.” It also says that “since the beginning of this Administration, we have charged 239 people with voting fraud-related offenses.”1

The release says a complaint, indictment and information “merely contain accusations” and that “all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.”1

Cases by federal district

  • Northern Georgia: 1, false claim of citizenship to vote.
  • Southern Texas: 5. Four face voting by an alien, one of them also a false citizenship claim; one faces a charge of lying on immigration documents after allegedly voting.
  • Maryland: 1, unlawful voting.
  • Eastern North Carolina: 9, false citizenship claim and voting by an alien.
  • Middle North Carolina: 5, four on both of those charges and one on voting by an alien.
  • Western North Carolina: 4, voting by an alien; three also face a false citizenship claim.
  • Middle Tennessee: 3, illegal voting and a false citizenship claim on a registration.
  • Western Tennessee: 2, voting by an alien.
  • Eastern Tennessee: 2, illegal voting.
  • New Jersey: 2, charges including voting by an alien and naturalization counts.
  • Western Wisconsin: 2, illegal voting as an alien; one also faces a false citizenship claim.
  • Northern New York: 2, voting by an alien.
  • Utah: 1, voting by an alien.
  • Western Missouri: 1, false citizenship claim to register; the release names a municipal election.
  • Nevada: 4, three on voting by an alien and one on illegal voting.
  • New Mexico: 1, fraudulent registration application in New Mexico.
  • Central California: 6, false statements on naturalization applications.
  • Eastern California: 6, illegal voting.
  • Eastern Arkansas: 1, voting by an alien.
  • Eastern Pennsylvania: 5, four on voting by an alien and one on a false citizenship claim.1

By SignalData’s count, the release describes 58 defendants as lawful permanent residents and four as an “illegal alien,” one each in Georgia, Texas, Maryland and eastern North Carolina. It states no immigration status for the New Mexico defendant, whom it places in Maryland.1

How the categories differ from the Oct. 26 release

The department’s Oct. 26 release counted “48 aliens” and gave no cumulative totals.2 Monday’s release counts “individuals” in its headline figure, “aliens” in the 195 and “people” in the 239, with differently worded offenses. The release does not say how the figures relate, and SignalData does not add them.1

Five districts appear in both releases. A SignalData comparison of the names listed for those five found no repeats.12 SignalData’s Oct. 26 report describes the federal voting-by-aliens statute, 18 U.S.C. 611.

What the records do not show

  • The release lists no case or docket numbers, U.S. Code citations or filing dates. It gives initial appearance dates for only two defendants, both in eastern Tennessee.1
  • It reports no pleas, maximum penalties or responses from any defendant or defense lawyer.1
  • Blanche’s statement refers to arrests, but the release does not say how many of the 63 were arrested.1
  • It does not break down the 195 or the 239, name the 25 states, or say whether the 63 are included in either total.1
  • SignalData read the release, not court dockets, and is not naming defendants.1
