Who is behind it
The record, newest first

About 400 people packed a hearing on an amended data center ordinance, with many speakers calling it too weak and some seeking a moratorium. (The News-Item, May 13, 2026)
Supervisors adopted a data center overlay and rezoned the 450-acre tract from R-1 residential to the S-2 special coal lands district; a speaker at the hearing put full build-out at about 5 million sq ft. (The News-Item, Sept. 24, 2025)
A Mount Carmel-area developer said a data center on the 450-acre Natalie site could bring about 1,500 jobs. (The News-Item (via Ground News), July 24, 2025)
Conflicts and open questions
- The DEP entry (#10000070) is 'UnsubmittedUnlocated'; its point is likely a township placeholder. Linking it to the Natalie tract is our inference from location.
- 5 million sq ft was a full build-out figure given by a speaker (named Lapotsky/Lapinsky in the text; role unclear) at the Sept. 2025 hearing, not a filing; sqft left blank. Power not reported.
- PJM's Sept. 17, 2026 PPL need PPL-2026-0029/0048 describes an unnamed customer near Mt. Carmel requesting about 2,000 MW by 2033; no source ties it to this project, so it is not cited.
- The outcome of the May 2026 vote on the amended ordinance was not found.
- The News-Item (Sept. 2025) names Jeff Molesevic as the landowner and project developer and Virtual Consonance as the company studying the site.
