Who is behind it
The record, newest first
CyrusOne's facility page lists the campus as in development, with more than $500 million planned across phases and a mix of grid and on-site power. (CyrusOne, Oct. 29, 2026)
C1 Freestone 1, LLC registered interior fit-outs of two 306,216-square-foot data center buildings (DFW20B at 1354 FM 488 and DFW20C at 1360 FM 488) with TDLR, each estimated at $100 million and scheduled from Aug. 23, 2026, to Aug. 23, 2027. (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Aug. 4, 2026; Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Aug. 4, 2026)
Trade press reported CyrusOne had broken ground on the campus during the previous week, after Calpine won regulatory approval around May to colocate a data center at the plant. (DatacenterDynamics, June 8, 2026)
Constellation's Calpine unit signed a 380 MW agreement to supply power, grid connection and site infrastructure for a CyrusOne data center next to the Freestone Energy Center, with exclusivity on another 380 MW. (Constellation Energy, Feb. 9, 2026)
Conflicts and open questions
- The 380 MW figure is the first-phase power agreement; Calpine also holds an exclusive agreement for a 380 MW second phase, so the campus could reach 760 MW.
- CyrusOne's own page still lists the campus as in development, says it has no address yet and refers to a county review process 'once approved'; construction status rests on the DCD groundbreaking report and the TDLR fit-out registrations.
- Constellation places the site about 80 miles southeast of Dallas; DCD says about 90 miles south.
