Rowan Project Temple

Who is behind it
The record, newest first
Rowan sought zoning for its Lasso building; the city said Lasso is the campus's original third building, relocated because land Rowan had under contract was assigned for the city's future landfill expansion. (KWTX, Aug. 12, 2026)
Rowan registered AUS02 with TDLR: a new 500,000 sq ft building at 1855 Bob White Road with an estimated cost of $780 million and work scheduled from August 2026 to August 2027. (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, July 24, 2026)
Rowan says Project Temple's 300 MW comes from the power allocation of its former Moriah site, and that Stampede and Ranger remain in final design. (Killeen Daily Herald (Temple Daily Telegram), May 16, 2026)
Rowan breaks ground on the Bob White Road campus; completion is targeted for late 2027. (KWTX, April 7, 2026; Rowan Digital Infrastructure, Oct. 29, 2026)
The council approved a development agreement with Rowan Temple LLC for the 554-acre Project Temple campus, allowing construction in three phases, along with a separate agreement for Rowan's Project Stampede. (Killeen Daily Herald (Temple Daily Telegram), Nov. 23, 2025; Killeen Daily Herald (Temple Daily Telegram), May 16, 2026)
Temple City Council unanimously approves Rowan's $700 million hyperscale campus on Bob White Road. (KWTX, Oct. 7, 2025)
Conflicts and open questions
- Acreage is reported as both 554 acres (development agreement) and 700 acres (developer and earlier reporting).
- Rowan says four of six Temple buildings were under construction in August 2026; the six span Projects Temple, Stampede and Ranger, so building counts per campus are unclear.
- Project Stampede (Rowan Terra LLC, about 270 acres) is a separate Rowan campus in Temple with a development agreement approved in Nov. 2025; its location was not found, so it is not added here.
- Residents opposed later Rowan approvals and a recall petition against council members was announced in April 2026; no lawsuit was reported.
- Rowan's portfolio page says construction started in late 2025; KWTX quoted Rowan in April 2026 as saying ground was broken in March 2026.
