The record, newest first

  1. TeraWulf agreed to sell its full 50.1% stake in the Abernathy joint venture to an investor group led by Fluidstack, which would lead the project after closing; its quarterly release later put the price at about $530 million. (TeraWulf (GlobeNewswire), July 6, 2026; TeraWulf (GlobeNewswire), Aug. 5, 2026)

  2. TeraWulf and Fluidstack priced the project financing and said commissioning remained on track for the second half of 2026. (TeraWulf, Dec. 18, 2025)

  3. TeraWulf disclosed a joint venture with Fluidstack (TeraWulf about 50.1%, rising to up to 51%) for a 168 MW critical IT campus on about 120 acres in Abernathy, with a 25-year lease to a Fluidstack unit worth about $9.5 billion and a $1.3 billion Google backstop on the lease. (TeraWulf Inc. (SEC Form 8-K), Oct. 28, 2025; The Block, Oct. 28, 2025)

Conflicts and open questions

  • County not confirmed: Abernathy lies in both Hale and Lubbock counties, and no opened source (TeraWulf releases and 8-K, The Block, Data Center Dynamics) names the county of this site. Hale is provisional.
  • Coordinates are the Abernathy town area.
  • The 8-K says the joint venture's hyperscale credit support is Google's lease backstop; the end user of the computing capacity is not named in an opened source.
  • Reports have linked Anthropic to Fluidstack's Texas capacity, but no opened, dated source ties Anthropic to this site; TeraWulf's July 2026 Anthropic lease is at its Kentucky campus.
  • As of TeraWulf's Aug. 5, 2026 quarterly release the stake sale had not been reported closed; developer lists both companies until it does.
