The judge in the main permit suit had heard final arguments June 15 and not yet ruled. (FauquierNow, Aug. 3, 2026)
- June 15, 2026 Judge Stephen Sincavage heard arguments on whether the 2021 zoning amendment behind the permit was void from the start. The town's new attorney sided with many of the plaintiffs' points. No ruling date was set. (FauquierNow, June 16, 2026)
- July 8, 2025 The council voted 6-0 to remove data centers as an allowed use in industrial districts; the change did not undo the Amazon permit. (FauquierNow, July 11, 2025)
- July 30, 2024 In a related public-records case, the Court of Appeals of Virginia revived the group's suit over withheld town emails about the project. (Rappahannock News (FauquierNow), July 30, 2024)
- March 17, 2023 Citizens for Fauquier County and 10 residents sued to overturn the permit; Amazon later joined as a defendant. (FauquierNow, June 16, 2026)
