NAS Lemoore data center and energy project
Ameresco, the Navy and CyrusOne plan a 100 MW data center with on-site generation on land Ameresco leases at NAS Lemoore. Also known as: Ameresco NAS Lemoore.

The record, newest first
The Hanford Sentinel reported a groundbreaking was still to be announced; the base's public affairs officer had said on April 10 that it should come within the next couple of months. (Hanford Sentinel, May 7, 2026)
Ameresco announced the project with the Navy and CyrusOne: 100 MW, on-site generation and a microgrid, with the first part due in 2027. Final agreements were still being worked out. (Ameresco, Inc., Sept. 9, 2025; EnergyTech, Sept. 11, 2025; Hanford Sentinel, undated)
DCD, crediting the Hanford Sentinel, reported the Navy was working on a 920-acre lease for an Ameresco solar farm of 425 MW and a 600,000-square-foot data center; the lease was not final. (DatacenterDynamics, Oct. 23, 2024)
Conflicts and open questions
- Reported acreage is about 930 acres (Hanford Sentinel, 2026) or 920 acres (earlier reports). Those acres cover the whole energy and data center lease, not the data center alone. The 600,000 sq ft figure traces to the project's environmental report, per the Hanford Sentinel, and is not in Ameresco's release.
- Reported solar size varies: 167 MW in the original 2016 lease, 425 MW in press, 450 MW in a 2024 supplemental environmental report, all per the Hanford Sentinel; that report was not opened. Ameresco's 2025 release describes on-site generation and engine generators.
- The Hanford Sentinel calls a cost above $1 billion a speculative estimate, so no investment figure is given here.
- The lease dates to 2015 and passed through several private owners before Ameresco held it, per the Hanford Sentinel.
The full record
- Status note
- Announced with first service expected in 2027. As of April 10, 2026 the base's public affairs officer expected a groundbreaking ceremony to be announced within a couple of months. No record opened shows construction has begun.
- Power note
- 100 MW is Ameresco's figure from its September 2025 release. A May 2026 Hanford Sentinel report says the capacity of the data center and its generation has not been disclosed, and a 2024 DCD report described five possible phases of 20-25 MW, which would come to 100-125 MW.
