- June 2, 2021 Responding to resident concerns, Lawton police said cameras around the city belonged to the Uninsured Vehicle Enforcement Diversion Program run through the Oklahoma District Attorneys Council. They photograph plates to check insurance, and a notice goes by mail to the registered address if no coverage is found. Police said the cameras are not there to generate citations and that the city does not take part in that kind of program. (KSWO, June 2, 2021)
- Aug. 1, 2024 KSWO reported that the department had 15 plate readers and wanted at least twice that many. It put Flock cameras at about $3,000 each and said these cameras were not then in the department's budget. The story tied the expansion to a 2040 capital plan extension on the Aug. 27, 2024 ballot that would give the department $10,000,000 in total, part of it for body and dash cameras. (KSWO, Aug. 1, 2024)
- Dec. 10, 2025 The portal, showing this last-updated date, reported 166,644 vehicles detected and 1,952 hotlist hits in the prior 30 days, with data kept 30 days. It lists immigration enforcement, traffic enforcement, harassment and personal use as prohibited. (Flock Safety / Lawton Police Department, Dec. 10, 2025)
