Who is behind it
The record, newest first
The contract calls for two to five data center buildings of 200,000 to 300,000 sq ft each, with construction to begin within 36 months after closing and the county able to reclaim the land if it does not. (The Farmville Herald, Jan. 30, 2025; The Farmville Herald, Feb. 5, 2025)
AVAIO and the county IDA announced a $5 billion, 300 MW hyperscale campus at the park. (AVAIO Digital (press release republished by Salamanca Press), Jan. 28, 2025)
Prince Edward supervisors voted unanimously at a special meeting to sell the roughly 280-acre HIT Park to AVAIO Digital for $12.2 million. (The Farmville Herald, Jan. 28, 2025)
Conflicts and open questions
- Acreage (280) from the Farmville Herald; the contract coverage lists parcels at 82 and 230 Kelly Lane without an acreage.
- Square footage is a range: 2 to 5 buildings of 200,000-300,000 sq ft each (roughly 400,000 to 1.5 million sq ft); sqft left null.
- Coordinates approximate from Kelly Lane / Persimmon Tree Fork Road near Farmville.
- Evidence is 'reported': the county vote is known through the Herald, not an opened county record; the developer release is a record for the announcement only.
- Park name spelled 'Heartland Innovation Technology Park' as in the developer release; trackers also use 'Innovative'.
