Who is behind it
The record, newest first
TECfusions announced it had acquired and rezoned 73 acres in Clarksville, merging six parcels, for an expansion it put at 300 MW, and said it wants to reuse old 138 kV lines from a retired coal plant. (Lightwave, Feb. 25, 2025)
DEQ approved a combined permit for the data center at 250 Burlington Drive that adds 28 diesel emergency generators to 12 already permitted. (Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Feb. 12, 2025; Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Nov. 17, 2025)

Conflicts and open questions
- Coordinates approximate, placed in the Clarksville area from the Burlington Drive address in the DEQ permit.
- Generator ratings in the DEQ permit are backup power, not IT load, and are not used for mw.
- No Mecklenburg County rezoning record was opened; the rezoning is as stated by the company and reported by Lightwave.
- The DEQ permit says construction must start by Aug. 12, 2026, unless extended; no record opened shows whether the new generators were installed.
The full record
- Status note
- Customer load was already live when TECfusions bought the building, and the company added halls through 2024; DEQ approved a permit for 28 more generators in February 2025, and the company says a 73-acre expansion site has been consolidated and rezoned.
- Power note
- Company figures: 24 MW live by June 2024 and a projected 37.5 MW when Hall D is done; the planned full site was put at 220 MW in Sept. 2024 and the campus target at 300 MW after the Feb. 2025 land deal. Reported range 220-300 MW planned.
