11 per KAIT (May 2025), before installation. The city's July 2026 FAQ gives no count, says only 'several locations', and says some cameras belong to the Wynne Public School District.
- May 2025 KAIT reported the department was getting 11 Flock cameras with a $65,000 Arkansas Department of Public Safety grant, to be installed in heavily traveled areas. The article gives no installation date and does not state the equipment cost. (KAIT, May 20, 2025)
- July 16, 2026 The city posted a Flock FAQ. It says the system was bought through a 2025 public safety grant and that police recovered four stolen vehicles in the past month. (City of Wynne, Arkansas, July 16, 2026)
Conflicts and open questions
- Per the city FAQ: data is deleted after 30 days unless preserved as evidence; search and upload access is limited to five positions (three CID, the captain, the chief); patrol gets notifications only; every search needs a documented reason; misuse can bring discipline up to termination.
- The FAQ says the cameras operate on a nationwide cloud network and that detectives can search the database for where a vehicle has been seen. It does not address sharing with federal agencies. Chief Richard Dennis told KAIT in 2025 the department could reach other Flock cameras within a 200-mile radius.
- The FAQ states no contract terms or audit.
