  2. ABC15 reported that the Arizona Attorney General urged a statewide pause on new data center approvals and looked at how such a pause could affect this Glendale project. (ABC15 Arizona, Sept. 1, 2026)

  3. The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 to grant the project's military compatibility permit. Air quality permits were still pending. (KJZZ, May 6, 2026)

Conflicts and open questions

  • Building descriptions conflict: two two-story buildings of about 1 million sq ft each (AZBEX, Jan 2026), two 500,000 sq ft buildings (the Luke AFB letter in the Glendale agreement), multiple buildings of 100,000-500,000 sq ft (KJZZ), and three buildings of about 330,000 sq ft (ABC15, Sept 2026). Square footage is left null.
  • Construction timing conflicts: KJZZ (May 2026) said 2027, and ABC15 (Oct 2026) says the city expects construction to start next month.
  • The Luke AFB letter quoted in the agreement says the site sees about 170 overflights a day.
  • Developer: Takanock (KJZZ, AZBEX). The applicant entity is Baccara Eagle Land, LLC.
  • The ACC line-siting/CEC docket number is not yet captured.
  • ABC15 (Oct 2026) breaks the 160 acres down as about 108 acres for three data center buildings, about 33 acres for the gas plant and about 12 acres for a future APS substation; AZBEX gave 23.7 acres for the power plant.
  • The ABC15 approval story does not give the council vote count.
