The record, newest first

  1. County commissioners approve the one-year moratorium 2-1, effective at once, and ABC57 gets no reply from Decennial on next steps. (WNDU, March 2, 2026; ABC57, March 3, 2026)

  2. The Area Plan Commission recommends a one-year moratorium on new data center proposals. (Data Center Dynamics, Feb. 2026)

  3. Decennial holds a community open house on the proposal. (ABC57, Feb. 9, 2026)

  4. Decennial says it hired a local realtor to scout land in early January, and word of the project starts to spread in the county. (ABC57, Feb. 9, 2026; Data Center Dynamics, Feb. 2026)

Conflicts and open questions

  • Decennial's separate 180 MW Hammond project, mentioned by Data Center Dynamics, is not part of this proposal.
  • ABC57's March story says the moratorium passed 2-1 without naming the voting body clearly; WNDU attributes the vote to the commissioners, which is what is used here.

Status note
Paused is an inference from the county's one-year moratorium: no source says Decennial stopped. No formal application had been reported, no land had been bought as of February, and Decennial did not reply when ABC57 asked about next steps.
Power note
As reported by ABC57 and Data Center Dynamics after Decennial's open house; no filing was opened.
