Takanock told Indiana utility regulators in 2025 that it wanted NIPSCO service for about 1.5 GW at an Elkhart County site but was at an impasse with the utility over interconnection. Also known as: Project Beckham.
Who is behind it

According to Takanock's testimony, NIPSCO offers to study only one option: two new 345 kV lines running more than 15 miles. (Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, April 1, 2025)
According to Takanock's testimony, NIPSCO calls its application incomplete and separately says no end user is identified on it. (Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, April 1, 2025)

- Power note
- Takanock's testimony describes NIPSCO's response as sized for an estimated 1.5 GW of data center load; its own modeling shows about 1,350 MW available on the line.
