His House member page gives his service as January 2023 to July 3, 2026. Capitol News Illinois reported on July 3, 2026 that he resigned that day, effective 4:59 p.m., in a letter to the Speaker and his colleagues, and that he said he would withdraw as his party's nominee for the seat. Its reports that day and on July 23 tie the resignation to an investigation by the Legislative Inspector General, whose report it said had not been made public; that report was not read here. No House Journal for that date was posted when checked.
